Worth the wait at the Olowalu Plantation House!

Jessica & Christopher flew from their home on Oahu to Maui at the end of 2019 to meet with us and look at wedding venues that fit their requirements.  They were looking for a private wedding venue on the Ocean and that could accommodate a group of 100+.

After viewing several wedding locations, they knew their search had ended after laying eyes on the Historical Olowalu Plantation House.  The popular Maui wedding venue is located right on the water with amazing views of the islands of Lanai and Molokai.  The plantation house is charming inside and out!  With access to 4 bedrooms, the house is perfect for larger wedding parties to spread out and enjoy getting ready.

Jessica & Christopher secured our services and we contracted the wedding venue rental with Olowalu for February 21, 2021, not knowing what 2020 would bring to the world!  Hawaii completely closed down, not allowing visitors from March 2020 until mid October of 2020.

Covid was an interesting time to be a wedding planner, navigating the ever-changing group limits & social distancing rules!  It was clear that the February 2021 date would need to be postponed, so we rescheduled the venue and all vendors for June 2022, positive things would improve by then.  By late 2021 the couple were happy to announce that they were expecting a baby!  The Olowalu house and all our amazing vendors allowed the couple to postpone again, so they would be able to fully enjoy the special day that they had been planning!

On May 29,2023 Jessical & Christopher’s long anticipated day arrived, the couple were finally able to have their dream wedding and said that it was well worth the wait, and everything was even better than imagined.    They were joined by nearly 100 of their friends and family, the day was truly one of joy & celebration!  The couple surprised their guests with a fire knife show and an adorable, shaved ice cart which were both huge hits!

We were so happy to be a part of Jessical & Christopher’s special day,  trusting us through the extensive planning process to help create memories that will last a life time!

Gather on Maui Perfection!

Kiersten and David knew a wedding on Maui was a must!  David was born and raised on the island and close with a large extended family and Kiersten’s family was more than happy to travel for the celebration. The couple fell in love with Gather on Maui, formally known as Gannon’s, which is located on the Wailea Gold & Emerald golf course with incredible panoramic views from the mountainside of Haleakala to the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean.
With a large group, finding a location that fits both your vision and your budget can be a challenge! Gather offers 2 wedding ceremony locations, the Molokini look out which is located on the 18th hole of the Gold course and the wedding knoll located at the base of the restaurant.  Both offer amazing views for an affordable price and is further discounted, if you’re hosting your reception with them as well.
Kiersten & David opted to do an exclusive buy out of Gather’s with the majority of the site fee going to the food and beverage.  The buy out price gives you full access to cocktail hour on the lower lawn for drinks & appetizers while the couple finishes their bridal portraits on the gorgous lawns or a near by beach for sunset!  We love the mass variety of photo opts at Gannon’s, everything from lush & tropical, manicured ocean views and a gorgeous beach 2 minutes away!
When having a buy out at Gannon’s, reception dinner is held in the elegantly main dining room, which has the perfect layout for the guest dining tables and dance floor on the lower level, then the bar and DJ on the upper level.  The restaurant has floor to ceiling sliding doors, that create a great indoor/outdoor feel and allows easy access on to the surrounding patio from all exits.
For smaller groups, the lower lawn can host up to 60 guests and allows us to bring in a DJ for dancing, it is one of the only locations on Maui that will allow dancing, if not buying out the restarant.   The upper pond is a pretty, semi private location just out side the main restaurant and our favorite location for groups 25 and under, wanting more of an intimate dinner and dancing is not on the agenda.

Gather on Maui is one of our favorite venues on Maui and we do a lot of events there!  Contact us today with any questions you may have, we would love to assist you in planning your perfect wedding in paradise!

Memorable moments at the Olowalu Plantation House, Maui Hawaii

Marcela & William’s beautiful wedding & reception at the Olowalu Plantation House was one that stands out in my memory because of all the wonderful details that went into their special day! Simple & Elegant design, pared with an all-star vendor list made this day unforgettable!

Rio events Design provided all rentals from the simple two post wood arch, farm dining tables, and fruitwood chairs that fit perfectly with the natural beautiful of the historical wedding venue. Reve Maui added a touch elegance with their pretty organza runners to help showcase the gorgeous centerpieces from Dellables.

Catered Coconut’s had a beautiful set up, offering fresh chilled coconuts to the guests while they enjoyed delicious appetizers from Cafe O’ Lei catering.

Spotlight photo booth kept the guests busy with their première set up, which always leads to some fun moments and provides the guests with great wedding favors!

Next Level Entertainment did a wonderful job of MCing, keeping the guests in the know with announcements and getting the party started! It was such a fun group, I mean look at that wedding party!

The Aloha Marquee, which is my personal favorite backdrops made for so many incredible photos! Matias Ezucurra photography did an amazing job of capturing Marcela & William’s incredible day, creating some of our favorite wedding photos!

Dream Wedding in Makena

Patty and Henry fell in love with the private, ocean front Kukahiko estate for their intimate ceremony location.  Located on the South side of Maui, the Kukahiko estate offers incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the Islands of Molokini & Kahoolawe.  The estate can be rented for a ceremony only or for a wedding and reception venue, for couples wanting a romantic and secluded location.

Patty chose a gorgeous driftwood arch, adorned with jewel toned floral arrangements from Dellables, they were stunning!  Our florist do an amazing job of duplicating our clients’ visions!  Dellables made matching floral centerpieces, then after the ceremony, we repurposed the arch piece to make the table look lush & full, while saving some money.

Pastor Valentine Rosette performed a heartfelt ceremony and the couple incorporated their children by presenting them with leis.  The lei ceremony is the perfect touch of Hawaiian and is a great way to include & honor children and parents attending the wedding.

After the ceremony was completed, we made sure to get a group shot while we had everyone there, then break down into the smaller family & friend combination photos.  I always highly recommend making a list of group shots beforehand, so no important shots are forgotten!

The guests relocated to the reception venue at Gather on Maui, while the bride and groom continued their bridal portraits on the Lava rock point, The view is incredible and make for some dramatic shots!

The guests were greeted at Gather in Maui and escorted to the reception venue on the lower lawn which boasts incredible ocean views surrounded by the immaculate, gold course golf course.  Cocktails & appetizers flowed while the bride and groom stopped at Po’olenalena beach for some romantic sunset photos.

Once we knew Patty & Henry were headed to the reception, we had the DJ instruct all of the guests to be seated and the newlyweds were announced!  First dance as husband & Wife was beautiful and we loved the added touch of the Aloha Marquee as their backdrop.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of Patty & Henry’s special day! Please contact A Perfect Paradise Wedding to get started on planning your Dream Maui wedding, we would love to assist you!

It was A Perfect Paradise Wedding at The Kukahiko Estate!

Paul & Nicole wanted an intimate wedding & reception with their closet friends and family, who would be traveling with them from Canada.  The most important factor was to be on the Ocean’s edge for their special day and the Kukahiko estate far surpassed their expectations!

The Kukahiko estate is a beautiful, ocean front property located in Makena Maui that offers affordable rates for private events.   The couple wanted to keep the décor simple and let their guests enjoy the stunning views.

After a very special ceremony performed by Charles Nahale and family photos, everyone enjoyed appetizers by Mollywood catering & cocktails by Bars R Us.

The photographer, Tad Craig captured amazing bridal portraits of Nicole & Paul on the lava rocks during golden hour.  The waves were incredible that day and made for some dramatic photos.  The Maui sunset was specular, bight pinks and oranges, that just got better and better with every passing moment.

The guests were seated at the grand dining farm table, adorned with bud vases with a variety of Hawaiian tropical flowers.  The couple was announced and had their first dance and cake cutting under the romantic bare bulb lights and stars, followed by an amazing dinner,

Thank you Nicole & Paul for choosing A Perfect Paradise Wedding to be your Maui wedding planners! We wish you a lifetime of joy & Aloha!
