Do blind dates ever really work?!  Yes they do, just ask my happily married couple, Gem & John!

Gem & John were set up by Coworkers and had an instant attraction.  After three years, John took Gem to one of their favorite spots, Cape May in New Jersey, and popped the question!

Gem & John both always wanted a small, intimate destination wedding and after seeing a YouTube video of Olowalu, they knew Maui was the place.

After over 16 years of planning weddings on Maui, I have a lot of great, memorable events, but Gem & John’s has really stuck with me!  They were such a pleasure to plan with and really were mostly concerned with their family & friends having the time of their life’s.

Great food was important, so of course we hired our personal favorite, Café O’ Lei.   They provided an amazing sushi bar and Masa, our favorite sushi chef made custom rolls for the guests.  It was also important to honor the Philippine tradition and have a whole roasted pig!

The guests were treated to a 20 cast Luau show and weren’t shy about joining in!  It was so wonderful to watch everyone enjoying themselves.

The beautiful evening ended with a sparkler farewell, kiss and Tad Craig there to capture it all!

7 years later and Gem & John have a 5 year old genius daughter, who has been reading since she was 2 and a 2 year old son, who is the life of the party!

Gem & John hope to be able to return to Maui for their 10th year anniversary.  Hopefully I will have the honor of planning a small vow renewal!

Thank you Gem & John for choosing me to be a part of your special day and keeping in touch over the years!

Erin & Tom chose the Olowalu Plantation house for it’s beautiful views and vintage feel!  It was the perfect location for their simple but elegant, black & white themed destination wedding.

Tropical Topiaries of white orchids adorned the ceremony site providing the guests with an unobstructed view of the ocean and the lovely island of Lanai in the distance.

Elegant bamboo canopies with sheer white fabric were erected over the grand dinning tables to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere.  Rustic Burlap runners, candles, and simple square vases of white calla lilies, orchids & poppies gave the tables that perfect extra touch.

Such a wonderful and adorable couple!  Thank you Erin & Tom for letting me be a part of your wonderful day!
